Technical Training Manager – Part Time

Shawthorpe are delighted to be working on behalf of one of our clients who are industry leaders within their field, and are looking to add a new role to their organization!

Job Purpose

The role will be reporting to the Head of People and Culture, to help launch training within the business, managing and developing the training division to bring a stronger culture and continuous learning and development.

Duties / Responsibilities

You will be accountable for designing exciting content for Moodle Workplace, the company’s LMS system, to support there learning and development On Board Connect strategy, you will implement and deliver of technical learning strategies.
You will manage training programs and develop employee’s skills and knowledge within the organization to future proof the business by developing the next generation of engineers
You will conduct assessment(s) of learning and development needs, deliver in-house training sessions and evaluate the effectiveness of the training Helping the management develop team members through technical career pathing.

Develop the strategies, and programs, evaluate accordingly, managing relationships with external and consultant trainers, tracking the budgets and negotiating contracts

Key Skills / Ability / Experience

You will hold proven experience in coaching and mentoring of employees and in conducting effective learning interventions (i.e. traditional training, ‘on/off the job’ training)

  • Minimum of BEng in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in mentoring, coaching and teaching skills and delivering ‘on/off the job’ training interventions
  • Subject Matter Expert in electrical control systems, (at least 10 years) with specialized experience in the field of electrical engineering – Drives systems – PLC’s, manufacturing environments and on-site work
  • Well-developed influencing and inter-personal skills
  • Ability to work with people effectively at all levels
  • Be a great team player and be able to work under own initiative
  • Strong communication skills, both oral & written
  • Confident and pro-active with an organized approach to work
  • Situational adaptability
  • Good problem solver
  • Hands on attitude
  • Enthusiastic and able to be relied upon

Working Hours

Permanent / Part Time

2-3 days a week based in Telford
